2019. New Year, New Vibes

Welcome back!

I am so excited to be back writing and sharing my gluten free tips and tricks. Sorry for the prolonged absence... I have no excuse really, just life!

Starting the year off, I was busy relaxing and blobbing around as it was school holidays and just getting over the craziness of the end of the year. As the end of  2018 rolled around I was exhausted after a trip to Hawaii, my sister's wedding and writing reports once again... so found myself constantly sick. I therefore was not in the right head space to be blogging. So apologies! I was so disappointed as I came back from a girls trip to Hawaii that was incredible and a trip worth a blog post!  I will definitely blog about that soon... just wait until you hear about my aeroplane toilet situation!

So 2019 ... (side note: but is anyone else feeling a little bit freaked out that it is 2019? I know it is the end of March, but I am still in shock!). So, 2019, I am taking on a lot more at work and am trying to get more comfortable with establishing a work life balance. This year, I am determined to be happier, healthier and have more adventures than every before. With my partner in crime Angus by my side, how can I go wrong!!!!

I spent January lying by the pool, worshiping the sun and loving the freedom that the school holidays bring. The holidays gave me the time to really engage with some different podcasts, like Shameless, The Health Code, Goop and My Dad Wrote a Porno. This was after being consumed with the Teacher's Pet over the Christmas period. I caught up with friends for food and drinks and really tried to treat my holidays at home as if I was on vacation.

February and March have been filled with lots of fun and joy but a lot of work also. Let's just say I am grateful that it is now almost the end of term and I'll be heading off to Byron for a trip with the girls. I am looking forward to chilling by the pool and hopefully sipping some cocktails and revisiting and finding new places to explore. I am also very happy to announce I will be heading back to Hawaii later in the year as well!

In my quest for happiness I have made some itsy bitsy "life goals" (think resolutions but ones I never intend to break). Some new "life goals" that I have made are to try and get my sleep on track with lavender sprays and a baby humidifier, that I am using every night, I feel that prioritising sleep is becoming super important to me. I also have made a goal this year to drink more water and have bought myself an obnoxiously large 2.2 L drink bottle, which I fill with chia seeds (or fish eggs as my students refer to them) and take it to work to ensure I am reaching my goal of being more hydrated.

Comment below if you have a "life goal" that has totally radicalised your life. I'd love to poach them!

Finally I want to share some gluten free products and naturally gluten free foods I am currently really excited about and am just loving to eat: dried apricots, Tropeaka Alkaline Greens and Immunity Powders, Woolworths Home Brand Taco Seasoning (I love it on everything, from chicken thighs to roasted veggies) and as a cheeky treat Mr Chens gf dumplings.

Hope you have been having a happy 2019!
