Dia dhuit, Ireland is an amazing country with an intense but interesting history. I stayed in Dublin and had a day trip to Belfast. From previous travels the whole country is absolutely beautiful with unbelievably charismatic and kind people. Travelling Ireland is easy to navigate as a solo gluten free traveller, with clear labelling and restaurants with gluten free options. Following are my musts when visiting Dublin and taking day trips across the country! Number one: Pub culture.... one more Bulmers thanks! Yes I've got to be honest I love a drink and sitting in a bar in Ireland listening to Irish folk music whilst sipping down a cool beverage was one of the things I fantasized about when planning my trip. As an avid wine drinker at home, I didn't want to be sitting in an Irish pub with a glass of sparkling or rose. Yes this was all to do with the mental picture I had constructed and wine was not what I had in mind. Now beer is definitely off the table be...
Bratislava- Such a fun solo location! Travelling alone is something I have done a few times and is a type of travelling I really enjoy. Yes, I love a family holiday and yes, I love girl's trips, but travelling alone is probably the most fullfilling and character building. When travelling with other people, whether it is your friends or family, you have a person getting you out of bed in the morning, a boss, a buddy, a protector, a guide, a spirit animal ... a whatever. When travelling alone, you have to be all those things to yourself. You are your mum telling yourself not to be up too late, you become your dad, telling yourself to give new things a go and you become your sibling, by laughing at yourself and putting yourself out there. I also love solo travel because you really get to know yourself, the good, the bad and the ugly. For me, I know that I am good at giving things ago, I am bad at putting myself out there, as being awkward as hell is in my nature and I unfortunately k...
Cześć, Knowing very little about Poland apart from the devastation of World War 2, I went with limited knowledge and just ready to explore. I have to be honest, what I found was beyond anything I expected! An idyllic and beautifully preserved city, Krakow is a phenomenal place with amazing history and gorgeous architecture. There for four days including my birthday, it was a great place to celebrate and a destination that I will most definitely be returning to. Another selling point is that compared to the rest of Europe, Poland is cheap!!! Where to eat! As a coeliac, I thought Poland would be tricky to find yummy traditional gluten free cuisine, fortunately I couldn't have been more wrong! I've got to be honest here, I have a supermum and she is one of the most accommodating and caring women in the world. Her 'super power' is that she is a researching wizard and does not rest until she has found gluten free options. Because it was my birthday she set her super...
